Be-Lawyer: growing ambitions
Just over a year ago, Holland Van Gijzen decided to open its Brussels office. One year on, the Belgian office of Holland Van Gijzen advocaten-Avocats has already become a well-known name. We are proud of the nomination of our firm for the Begian Legal Awards 2011.
The office has built up a unique reputation and gained an early name for itself in Belgium thanks to its solution-oriented approach. As a consequence, it has grown by more than 50%, a rate which is unprecedented in the current economic climate.
As you can read in Be-Lawyer, the range of legal services offered by our lawyers in Belgium already covers a wide range and will even further expand. A number of practice teams at Holland Van Gijzen in Belgium, including litigation, mergers & acquisitions and finance, have been strengthened by the arrival of lawyers who already have a great deal of experience in these practice areas.
We hope that you will continue to value our services and support our ambitions for growth, so that we in turn can demonstrate how much added value we can provide for your organization.
In this edition of Be-Lawyer our lawyers handle various legal topics which are of interest to our clients such as:
- A great growth gem: on 1 December 2010, Laun, a Brussels based law firm joined forces with Holland Van Gijzen.
- A new supervisory structure: the financial crisis of 2008 made European countries reflect on the effectiveness of their Financial supervisory model.
- The success of the partial demerger: if you wish to restructure a company or group of companies, there are a wide range of legal instruments available. Over the past decade, the partial demerger, has proven to be very successful.
- Additional capital: interesting instruments for generating additional capital at a limited liability company.
- Tax havens: Belgium’s tax controversy policies consist of a wide range of legislative and operational measures aimed at efficiently protecting tax revenues.
- The value of due diligence investigation: many companies that want to expand their activities or ensure future growth consider acquiring other business intities or operations. There are many methods that can be used to transfer a business.
